While walking through the Totem Lake shopping area, Nikki and I grabbed some lunch at Bok a Bok, a Korean fried chicken place that serves a Mac and Cheese dish called the "Bowl O' Shame". Honestly, we were both sold the moment we saw that name!

The dish itself was such a delightful mess. It stacked a bunch of Korean fried chicken, tater tots, hot sauce, and fried shallots atop some Kimchi Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese part of it was just fine - it was shell pasta (not macaroni) with a Nacho cheese + cheddar sauce, so nothing really too exceptional. However, the fried chicken was delightful and perfectly crispy. The hot sauce was also tasty and just a tiny bit spicy. The poached egg was really soft and runny, but complimented the dish well. And the tater tots had almost completely disintegrated having absorbed all that cheese and egg and grease. The one thing that was kinda lost in all this mess was the kimchi - the characteristic flavor was barely perceptible given everything else, meaning you just ended up with thin strips of cabbage floating around in there. That bit wasn't great, but everything else really hit the mark for me.

So overall, not bad. If they dropped the kimchi, and maybe used a slightly better cheese sauce, this dish could be phenomenal. As-is, however, it's still pretty dang good and I'd happily eat it again!
